You have the right to refuse a physical search of your person, property or vehicle.
An officer may conduct a pat-down of your person or glance around the visible areas of your vehicle. An officer must have REASONABLE SUSPICION or PROBABLE CAUSE to conduct a full search.
If no illegal items or weapons are found on your person and you are not suspected of involvement in a criminal offense, ask if you are free to go!
You have the right to remain silent. This is your 5th Amendment right. Remaining silent is not an admission of guilt. It is your right not to answer questions of an officer.
You have the right to know why you're being detained. After providing ID, you have the right to a reasonable length of detainment. This means that if the stop is too long that is wrong!
